Pardon My French

Happy Hump Day! So far this week, work has been crazy. So, I figured I'd just do a quick post of an untried I have. Pure Ice Pardon My French is a glamorous black polish full of micro and small copper hexes.

I should have also layered it over black to show the difference, but I just get so excited to paint my nails that sometimes I forget about the blogging side. (^_^;) I also think layering would have given more depth because there was SO MUCH glitter in just two coats.

The polish was a little thick, but I think that's pretty standard for glitter polishes. I think it helps suspension so the glitter doesn't settle and you don't have to fish for it. Overall, I really like this polish. The copper added a classy feel that made me think of a flapper girl for some reason. Hehe.

Well, I hope you all have a fabulous downhill ride to the weekend! See you soon.

Swatch Post: Half of a Sugar Rush?

Hiya! So, I was able to pick up half of the Sinful Colors Sugar Rush collection this week. This is just going to be a quick swatch post. All pictures are 2 coats with no topcoat and then with a matte finish.

First is Candy Coated (purple) and Cotton Candy (pink).

Sinful Colors Candy Coated (purple) & Sinful Colors Cotton Candy (pink)

I love this purple, but the pink reminds me of Barbie's convertible. It made me feel like a little girl. Of course, if I didn't have short nails, that might not have been the case. That's okay, though. I mainly got it for nail art.

Next is Sweet Tooth and Orange Cream.

Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth & Sinful Colors Orange Cream

I love both of these. I couldn't put my finger on what these reminded me of until my friend mentioned it. They totally remind me of sherbet! What do you think?

Well, that's it. I told you it would be quick. ^_~ Have a fabulous weekend!

Halo Hues Wrap Up

I'm finally finishing up my Halo Hues swatches! (Insert applause here) So, I never thought I'd be saying this, but I can't wait to wear a polish other than a holo. (>,<) I know, I know! Well, it's not that it isn't gorgeous...actually, that's just the problem. I didn't want to do nail art over it!

Alright, let's get to it. Kismet is a pretty green, however I feel like this would have been better in last year's collection. Likewise, I think Angel Kiss, the green from last year, is a better fit for this collection. Anywho, here are the pics.

Color Club Kismet

Oh, yes. I forgot to mention we had cloudy and rainy weather for the past week. So, some of these are with flash rather than natural light. You can still see the gorgeous holo effect though.

Next is Cosmic Fate. Some of you may not give this one a second glance because it orange, but without all the holo flair, it's actually a little more neutral than you'd expect. Check it out.

Color Club Cosmic Fate

Alright, last but not least, Beyond. I've heard some call this a dark grey, but I beg to differ. It is definitely a black polish, but once you add all the holo shimmer of course it's not going to look true black. If you get it on your skin you'll see that it's undoubtedly black. But if you're not big on black polish, it doesn't read as black, so it might be worth giving a shot.

Color Club Beyond

Well, that's it. I hope my swatches and opinions on the colors help if you've had any doubts about any of these colors. It's one collection that I'm happy I splurged on. Have a fabulous week!

Two Halo Hues & V-day Design

Well, I was going to do a swatch and design for each color. Instead, I have two swatches and a Valentine's design for you. First up is Miss Bliss, the pretty pink. I tried to enlarge the photo for you all, but it did detract from the quality a little. Nothing, however can hide that amazing holographic effect.

Color Club Miss Bliss

Next is Eternal Beauty, my new favorite polish! I love purple and this is so gorgeous. I couldn't stop staring at my nails today. We didn't have the same sunshine as the day I wore the pink, but I still caught a little.

Color Club Eternal Beauty

Yesterday, my niece asked me to paint her nails with a Valentine's design for school this week. I let her pick everything: colors, stamping designs, etc. In the process, I came up with a little idea. I used Bundle Monster plate BM-209 to create a design that looks like music flowing. Then I used a faux-nad plate m2 and added a little stick on one of the hearts to make it look like a musical note. So, kind of like a love song.

That's it. I kept it simple. Haha. Well, I hope everyone's week is off to a great start. See ya later!

Halo Hues Over the Moon Plus Some Nail Art

Hey guys! I'm so excited to share my first post on the 2013 Color Club Halo Hues. I'm going to try to show one color and some type of nail art for each color. I love how saturated the color in these are while keeping a very strong holo effect. The first color I chose is Over the Moon, a beautiful blue. Of course, since I decided to paint my nails with a holo polish, it was cloudy & rainy today. But I think I still got some good pics. Prepare for some pic spam!

Drooling yet? (^_^) The formula was great, full coverage in two coats. Ok, only two pics of the simple design I did. Just some green hearts in the corner for a non-traditional Valentine's mani.

So that's it for this beauty. Be sure to come back for the rest of the collection. Ciao, for now! Oh, yeah. For my new readers, hope you don't mind a little cheese with your polish. Haha!

Julep February Bombshell Maven Box

Well looky here, I finally got around to a new post. I was planning on doing this Saturday, but was miserable with some sort of fit of allergies or something. Bleh! I hope you all are well.

At any rate, I should warn you this is a pic heavy post. I switched from the It Girl to the Bombshell Maven box this month. I was interested in the nail treatment since my nails are splitting like crazy. I blame the sudden winter weather that we've been missing all season here in Florida. I was also liking the green polish, Laura. So, let's get started.

They even gave us Valentine's chocolate. How sweet. (^_~) Everything was packed nice and snug.

This, in my opinion, is genius. Any girl who has packed a makeup bag knows how annoying and awkward the eyelash curler is. This one is so compact and flat, I just love it! I haven't actually used it yet, but I'll let you know if it ends up being a disappointment. Here are a few more pics, so you can see how it works and how small it actually is.

Okay, so here is Laura. A lovely olive/army green. The formula was nice, full coverage in 2 coats.

Julep Laura

I was definitely interested in seeing how much holo was in Ginger. When you first apply it, the holo doesn't really show at all. As it dries, however, the holo starts to show. It's not a, bam, look-at-me holo. It's subtle yet very pretty. Again, good formula, full coverage in 2 coats.

Julep Ginger (Indoors)

Hard to see in inside light, but the middle is showing just shimmer so you can see the slight color shift in the other two.

Julep Ginger (Sunlight)

In sunlight, you can definitely see the holo, but still very subtle. I'm really glad I got Ginger instead of the silver in the It Girl box. This is a beautiful polish that can be worn to work. Luckily, I can wear pretty much anything on my nails at my job.

Alrighty, I'm done overloading you with pics. ^_^ Don't forget about the giveaway. You can earn more entries every day. Ta-ta for now!
