Fancy Schmancy NotD

I'm still having fun with  my scrapbooking scissors. Today, I have another tape mani but with brighter, higher contrasting colors. I had seen swatches of Urban Outfitters Flip Flop and absolutely loved it. It's the perfect aqua color. Not too minty, not too blue or green. Even though I've had mixed results with their polish in the past, I knew I wanted this. I also picked up Bandeau and a couple others that you'll see when I use them. So first, Flip Flop.

Just gorgeous! It went on perfectly in two coats, no issues. Then I got tape happy. Haha.

I have no idea why my skin looks so discolored. Anywho, if it weren't for the crooked design on my middle finger, I would have absolutely loved it. I think the silhouette has a very eastern feel. Like, maybe Moroccan or Indian? I should do it again with red and gold. Hehe.

That's all for now. Hope you all are having a fabulous weekend!

Cuz I'm a Geek

I saw tons of Iron Man nails when 3 came out, but I haven't seen any Star Trek nails. Of course, I'm rarely on the computer on the weekends. I could have just missed them all. Anyway, here are mine. Simple, but unmistakably geek. Haha.

Also, sorry I haven't been blogging like usual. Not only have I been busy, but I haven't been motivated. I have so many other passions and hobbies that I've been ignoring, and I think I just need to find some balance between them all. I hope you all will stick with me. I've even considered just sticking with Facebook and Instagram instead of the blog. What do you guys think?

Well, I'll be sure to let you know if I make that decision. Have a fabulous day. Xoxo.

Frosted Gumdrops - Frosted Tips 2 Ways

To continue my Frosted Gumdrops non-swatch posts, today I have two more to share. I decided frosted tips was a good play on the name. So, I did one over Crushed Candy and one with Blueberry Fizz as the "frost."

Remember how I couldn't get Blueberry Fizz opened? Well, my husband couldn't either. He's 6'2 and works out 4 times a week! In his defense, he also has really large hands, so gripping that little lid couldn't have been easy. How did he finally get it open? With his teeth. Yeah, so now my lid looks like this on either side. Haha.

Ok, on to the manis. The first is Crushed Candy with Sinful Colors Candy Coated. You see what I did there? LOL. Here it is.

Next, I decided to use Blueberry Fizz since it's blue and frosty looking. ^_^ This is over Millie, one of the new  Julep polishes I got. Sorry for the crappy pic. I was having issues with Millie. That's for another post, though.

So, that's is for this post. Are there any ideas you'd like me to try with these polishes? Let me know. Have a fabulous weekend!

NotD: Rock Candy Plus...?

So, I know a lot of nail lovers out there took advantage of the Groupon deal for the Julie G Frosted Gumdrops Collection. That means, there are tons of swatches circulating and you don't really need another, right? So, what I'm going to try to do is find out what other nail art techniques will work with these. But I'm going to give you a swatch first anyway. Haha.

Since they're textured, I'm pretty sure it will be nearly impossible to effectively stamp over it. So, my first attempt was saran wrap. I know it's not going to get the same effect, but I wanted to see what it would look like. I used black so it's easy to see, but I think I would have liked it much more with a different color. All the texture is still there, though. Anyway, here it is.

Sorry this is smaller. The other one was taken with my camera at home. I don't know why my phone pics are always so small. But you can click and enlarge it a little. So, what do you think? I think I'm going try sponging next. Any other suggestions?

As always, thanks for reading. Have a wonderful weekend!
